GEORGE JAVARAS CORPORATE AWARD

BMO Harris Bank, recipient of the George Javaras Corporate Award. In the early 1980s, Harris Bank began its support of History Fair, and it continues generous support of History Fair as a corporate sponsor today. The award is named for George Javaras, a partner at Kirkland & Ellis and longtime CMHEC Board member, including a stint as Chair of the Board in the early 1990s.
PATRICIA AND MARTIN KOLDYKE TEACHING AWARD

 Pat Duffy, recipient of the Patricia and Martin Koldyke Teaching Award. Pat Duffy taught History Fair for 25 years in Chicago Public Schools, including exceptional programs at Nixon Elementary and Lincoln Elementary, before her retirement. Even in retirement, she has been a wonderful mentor to other teachers and an outstanding History Fair volunteer. The award is sponsored by Patricia and Martin Koldyke, who have a deep passion for teaching and education, and are founders of the Golden Apple Foundation.
RICHARD BROWN AWARD

Brown Obenshain Fross

 Roger Fross, recipient of the Richard Brown Award. Roger, a longtime partner at Locke Lord, has served on the CMHEC Board of Directors since the early 1990s. He has a deep appreciation of Chicago history and has provided extraordinary leadership and generous support for CMHEC for two decades. The award is named for Richard Brown, one of the founders of History Fair at the Newberry Library, who served on the History Fair Board of Directors from 1979 until 2009.
